What You Need For WordPress Setup?
Here are a few things you need to keep in your mind before you setup a WordPress blog.
- You must-have a Domain Name & Web Hosting.
- Choose the best Web Hosting & Domain Names Company.
- Think first whether to buy SSL Certificate or not for your domain name.
Once the above mentioned is done, now let’s dive into the step by step process.
For a novice, let me tell you a little bit about WordPress.
WordPress or also called WP was started in 2003. It is an open source project that allows everyone to start their own site/blog online without paying any cent by installing its script on their domain names.
Now going to walk you through the steps.
First Buy A Domain Name & Hosting
WordPress is an open source platform but on the other hand, everything you need to do is buy a web hosting and a domain name first in order to setup WordPress on your domain name. In the upcoming post, we’ll deeply and clearly share with you a guide that will let you know the entire process of buying a domain name and web hosting.
Installing WordPress on a Domain Name
1:- Log Into Your Domain cPanel
There are two ways you can setup WordPress on a domain name so the best way to do so is using the Softaculous software. It’s best because it’s free as well as a quick way to do.
In order to use Softaculous software, log into your Domain cPanel. Tips:- Type ‘/cpanel‘ after your domain name without single commas.
2:- Open Softaculous Software
Once you’re successfully logged into your domain name cPanel, you’ll find there a lot of apps and software. Softaculous will be one of them. So scroll down and open the Softaculous.
Click the WordPress icon to go to the WordPress installation page.
The theme of the Softaculous would look different depending upon the theme your’re using on your cPanel.
3. Click ‘ Install Now ‘ button
Click the WordPress Install Now button to go to the WordPress setup page. Once you clicked it, you’ll get a setup page like you see below.
Follow these steps to fill in the form:
Choose Protocol: Choose whether you want your WP blog to be installed on YourDomain.com or www.YourDomain.com or https://www.YourDomain.com. Tip: In order to choose https, you must have purchased an SSL Certificate for your domain first.
Choose Domain: If you have one hosting account and many domains under the same hosting account then you will see different domains in the list so choose the one on which you want to install your WordPress blog on. It’s very important.
In Directory: By default, you will notice ‘ WP ‘ in the text box but if you want to install WordPress on your main domain i.e YourDomain.com and not under any of your domain directory i.e YourDomain.com/myblog then remove the ‘ WP ‘ from the text box or add any other directory you wish to install your WordPress on your domain directory.
Site Setting is not really very important at this point but doing from now can boost up and save up your precious time. So better to do it right now. Follow the steps below.
Site Name: Type your Site Name i.e BloggingScout.
Site Description: This is Tagline of your blog if you want to add.
Enable Multisite: This is not really important for you if you’re not an advanced WordPress user.
Admin Username: Choose your blog Username. Note: This can’t be later changed so try to choose the best username for your blog. This Username will be used along with the Password to log into your WP Dashboard.
Admin Password: Choose a log in password for your WP blog. This password can be used along with the Username to log into your WP Dashboard.
Admin Email: This is also not really very important but is good to keep all things and stuff up to date from the initial steps. Enter your usual email address to receive all of the notifications regarding your WP Setup and other stuff that happens on your blog. Tip: You can change this later.
Advanced Option: This option is very optional so if you don’t know what Database and Table Prefixes are then you should leave it or otherwise you can make changes to it. However, choosing a custom and hard to remember database can help you secure your blog from hackers and auto-machines.
And finally, Enter your email address again and then hit the ‘ Install ‘ button to start installing WordPress on your Domain name.
Once the install button is clicked, a new window will be opened with the progress bar which will take a few minutes depending upon your internet connection. Once everything is done perfectly, you’ll be congratulated for the WordPress installation.

Now visit your blog & you’ll see that WordPress has installed on your blog which took not more than 5 minutes.
